Office Recycling in the UAE: How ReLoop’s Service Works

Updated: Sep 29

Paper from the printer. Cardboard from deliveries. Bottles and cans from the pantry. Old computers waiting in a storage room. An office produces several types of recyclable material, but collecting them takes more than putting out a few bins.
People need to know what goes where, collections need to fit the workplace, and someone needs to keep track of the results.
ReLoop helps organisations build that process, starting with an assessment and a recycling plan suited to their needs.
What can your office recycle?
Start with the materials your workplace generates regularly, then consider items that need occasional collections.
Around your workplace | Materials to discuss with ReLoop |
Desks and printing areas | Paper, cardboard and ink cartridges |
Pantries and shared spaces | Plastic containers, glass bottles and metal cans |
Deliveries and stockrooms | Cardboard boxes and recyclable packaging |
IT and equipment storage | Computers, monitors, printers, routers and cables |
Maintenance and specialist collections | Batteries, lamps and electrical appliances |
Check our accepted materials, or share a photo with our team if you’re unsure about an item.
How the service works
1. Tell us about your workplace
Contact ReLoop or create an organisation account through the app.
Share your location, approximate headcount, the materials you want to recycle and any collection requirements. Mention access restrictions or multiple collection points so these can be considered from the start.
2. Start with a waste assessment
Our team assesses your waste streams to identify recyclable materials and develop a suitable plan.
This is where we discuss the service scope, pricing and collection frequency. It also gives you a chance to explain your goals, whether you’re introducing recycling for the first time or improving an existing programme.
Your office plan is agreed after assessment. Bin provision, staff training and reporting arrangements should be confirmed as part of that plan.
3. Help your team sort correctly
Employees need clear instructions that relate to the items they use every day. Training helps your team understand which materials belong in each collection stream and how to prepare them.
We include cleaning and facilities staff in the discussion. They help keep materials separated between the point of disposal and collection.
4. Set up the recycling bins
ReLoop offers bin supply as part of its organisation services. The assessment helps establish the requirements for your workplace, with provision agreed in your plan.
Choose locations that fit how people use the office. Clear labels and familiar examples make it easier to use the bins correctly.
5. Set up your organisation account
Your ReLoop account supports the collection process and gives your organisation access to relevant service information, including a dashboard view and enviromental impact certificate.
Agree who will coordinate the account internally. Having a clear contact helps when collection needs change or employees have questions.
6. Arrange collections
Collections follow the arrangements agreed for your workplace, with notifications about collection status.
If your office grows, moves or starts generating different materials, let the team know so the service can be reviewed.
7. Send materials for recycling
ReLoop works with government-approved recycling facilities and provides tracking and traceability as part of its organisation service.
Our sister company, Ecyclex International Recycling, provides recycling expertise across a range of materials. Discuss any specialist items or documentation requirements before arranging their collection.
8. Review your environmental reports
ReLoop provides environmental reports to help organisations understand their recycling activity and its impact.
Confirm the reporting and certification arrangements your organisation needs during the assessment. These records can support internal sustainability updates and help your team review progress.
What about old office electronics?
An IT clear-out deserves its own conversation. Prepare a list of the devices, approximate quantities and locations, and involve the person responsible for your organisation’s data.
Tell us whether you want electronics collected for recycling or would like to participate in the device donation initiative. Suitable devices contributed through the initiative are refurbished for donation.
Discuss data-handling and documentation requirements before collection, so the arrangements are clear to everyone involved.
Help the programme become part of the working day
A few practical habits can make office recycling easier to maintain:
Nominate a coordinator. Give employees a clear person to contact with questions.
Use familiar examples. Explain how to handle the packaging and materials your office actually generates.
Include new starters. Make recycling instructions part of their introduction to the workplace.
Share progress. Use your reports to keep the team informed and identify areas to improve.
Review changes. Revisit the arrangements when staffing, equipment or waste volumes change.
Bring your team together with a workshop
A recycling workshop can help introduce the programme or refresh your team’s understanding.
ReLoop runs workshops in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, at your office or at our facilities. Sessions last around 90 minutes and accommodate up to 40 participants.
Topics include waste segregation, e-waste, plastic and paper recycling, composting and more. Explore our workshops to find a session that fits your team.
How much does office recycling cost?
Pricing is agreed after assessment, alongside the collection frequency and service scope. Contact us with your workplace details so we can discuss an appropriate plan.
